Renters Insurance
Your landlord's policy doesn't cover your things
Affordable protection for renters
If you rent, your landlord's insurance covers the building — not your belongings, and not you. If there's a fire, a break-in, or a burst pipe, replacing everything you own comes out of your pocket unless you have renters insurance.
For a few dollars a month, a renters policy covers your possessions, your personal liability, and the cost of somewhere to stay if your rental becomes unlivable. It's one of the most affordable policies we write.

More protection than you'd expect
Renters insurance does more than replace your stuff. It follows your belongings even when you're away from home, covers you if someone is injured in your unit, and pays for temporary housing after a covered loss.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is renters insurance really worth it?
For most renters, yes. Add up what it would cost to replace your furniture, electronics, clothing, and everything else you own — renters insurance covers that for typically $15–$30 a month, and it includes liability protection if someone is hurt in your home or you accidentally damage someone else's property.
Does renters insurance cover my roommate's belongings?
Not unless they're listed on the policy. Each person's belongings are covered by their own policy, so roommates generally each need their own renters insurance. We can help you sort out the right setup.
Does my renters policy cover my things outside my home?
Usually yes. Most renters policies cover your personal property anywhere — a laptop stolen from your car, luggage lost while traveling, a bike taken off a rack. Ask us about the specific limits so you know what's protected.
